 How often should i

how often should i clean out my G.G.s cage i try to do it twice a weak but when i feed and him change his water he hides so i figure he is scared but i have to take him out when i change the coconut fiber in the bottem of the cage so i was just wondering how often to clean out the cage it just a 20 gallon tank so it not that big.and i feed him live mealworms and crickets but dont know how much so i just give him 12 little crickets a weak and 4 meal worms a day after that with one in betwean let me no if that is wrong to do.....a concernd G.G. owner

Weak - week.

I spot clean my goldie’s tank once a week and change the substrate every to every other month. Since they stress very easily, it doesn’t make much sense to do it more than that.

As for feeding, I would not leave crickets in there indefinitely. If left in there long enough the crickets can literally bite the gecko and cause damage. So it only makes sense to feed two to three at a time and take out which ones haven’t been chewed on. Feeding 4 mealies a day is fine, especially if it’s from an inescapable cup. If the goldie is an adult, you only really have to feed every other day.
