 Tank Cleaning Humor

I cleaned my tank this week (just now, infact). Which is a big exersize since the newly refined tank is the length of my arm. Here’s what happened. 10 gals was too small for my goldie. So I brought another 10 gallon tank, popped out the bottom, and screwed the two tanks together. It was time-consuming but was Extremely worth it. Now Sade is a happier gecko.

Anyway, back to my story. I went out and spent 80c to buy one of those dishes you put under flower pots so the water doesn’t leak everywhere. Cleaned it, sanatized it. Then just now put it in my tank for the first time and filled it with water. Thought this would be good because I read somewhere that goldies like to soak in shallow dishes (dont know if this was true or not).

Anyway. Put the lizard back into the tank. My fav part of tank cleaning (since this is when Sade comes out of hiding and explores the tank to see what I changed).

He goes to the highest possible point of the tank. I was cool with that. Til he look this massive 3 ft something leap and lands SPLASH in the pool of water. Don’t worry, he was fine. Fact, Sade sat in the pool for what seemed like 5 seconds then sprung out of it and went on with his exploring.

Do you think this is odd behavior? Do you think he’ll do it again?

I tried to pop the bottom out of a tank once. I ended up with glass shards all over the place and bloody fingers. My gecko dives into the water too. It’s cute:)

^^` Yeah, glass went everywhere for this project too. I was surprised the rest of the tank didn’t crack when I did it. But I removed all the glue holding the glass peices together and I also removed the bottom frame before getting rid of the bottom of the tank =] It beat putting the one 10 gal tank on its small side.

I woke up a few minutes ago and noticed that the lizard had been in the pool again. Mainly because the area around his hiding place was wet. He’s missing, but I just think Sade is hiding behind the log where I can’t see him.

He was SO CUTE! =D
