I am Jenny AKA Gypsy, from the Bearded Dragon Forum and The Uromastyx Forum...seems I will be visiting you guys..because I rescued a Gecko of some kind today off the tip top of the wall at My neighbors post office where he works. ( Apparently it was shipped and escaped..NOT sure HOW he/she got there really though..) OK anyway..could someone PLEASE look at this baby and tell me what i have and WHAT to do with it...I mean what they eat and if it is a daytime lizard or nightime...and really just all the husbandry..I stopped and got a Leopard Gecko book..but I swear I am NOT sure this IS a Leoparfd Gecko...SO here I am...inexperienced and freaking out..So PLEASE help u guys !! Thank u SO MUCH, Gypsy P.S. My neighbor thought it was a beardie like i have and called me to come get it...So THAT’S how I eneded up with this scared baby today. It is about 3 1/2 or 4 inches long..TINY !! Also he turned dark in the box..but he was a TANNISH yellow colr CREAM I guess u would call it when he was on the wall..the same color as the wall actually...I haven’t a CLUE what it is..but I will DO what YOU tell me and BUY what U say buy..I got the moss and moisteded it and put it in a dish inside another hide and also got the moon light and the under the cage heat pad and papertowels for substrate..I got pinhead crickets and gonna get mealworms tomorrow..if he IS a Leopard...I just am NOT sure until you guys tell me !

It’s either a Mediterrainen Gecko or a House Gecko (both look the same to me)... I gave you directions on what to do for an instant tank in the Gecko forum, I believe. |

Lighten up! She is not a spamer just someone concerned in helping an innocent creature. Yes you gave her husbandry information, but the fact of the matter is she was trying to identify it as a species natural to the area where she lives or one that was being shipped and was an escapee at the Post office. We have come to the conclusion it is a native species to the southern regions of the United States, so it can be turned loose to live a natural life and not one in forced captivity. Gypsy is a well respected member of both the Uro Forum and The Bearded Dragon forum. Coming at her was not really called for, since I have seen you visiting several different forums and no one calls you names and comes at you with a vengence. I would think that you would have a little more consideration next time someone is trying to help one of God’s creatures and asks a simple question, even if it is repeated in several forums. I found that she posted in the gecko forum and 6 people posted to help. She said noone came to help and I’m very confused now. I thought she posted all over the place considering I found 2 identical threads in two different places. Minor accident there, but it’s understandible because people tend to do it alot around this forum. It seriously looks like a type of house gecko or mediteranian gecko. Alot of house geckos look completely different and can be the same thing. Was there harm in saying it wasn’t a golden, marble, or tokay gecko? |
