Some breeding Q’s
will they mate whenever they feel like it? what is needed to incubate the eggs? how many babies are usually in a litter? how big are they? how should you care for the babies? when is it safe to give them away? (to a reliable caretaker) |

After that, as long as you have all of their environmental conditions met, they will breed whenever the female is ready. There females usually lay one to two eggs at a time, but they can lay several cluthes in a row. They are ’gluers’(the stick their eggs to items in the cage, usually the glass sides of the tank)so to incubate then, you need to place a delicup over the egg with something inside of the cup to hold mosture. Whatever is in the cup needs to be sprayed for humidity(do no spray the egg directly) Do NOT let the eggs hatch out into the cage with the adults, they will be quickly eaten(I learned that one that hard way). Care for the babies is the same as any other baby geckos. They need food items small enough to eat, usually pinhead crickets or wingless fruit flys. As far as giving them away, I think it’s more of a personal thing, when you feel comfortable enough in their eating habits and size. ~Cro |
