Hmm...Booger won’t lay in egg laying box

Okay, she layed her first clutch on the ground by the water bowl. They were smelling horrible 4 days later so I threw them out. I have an egg laying box, but she digs in every spot in her cage except the spot I want her to lay in. How convienient. What should I do now? Spray an area of paper towel with water ?

OH!
I forgot to tell you guys what Booger does when she doesn’t use her egg laying box. Since calcium is almost like a loose substrate, Booger spreads calcium from her calcium bowl on the paper towel & tries to dig in it.
You can dig in perlite, but it’s not as soft as sand(not saying it’s good, but there is some in their natural habitat along with clay, but that is also partly the reason why their life expectancy in the wild is 3 years)
Do you think Eco Earth & Bed A Beast would appeal more to her than perlite?
