 Will they ever breed?

hey, i have two leopard gekos, one male one female, and i have had them both since they were quite young (they are about 1ish now maybe a bit older) both weighing around 50ish (female) and 55-60ish (male). They have been in the same tank since we got them, as the petshop guy said that was fine, but after reading some of the other threads im wondering if i should have kept them seperate? they must be reaching maturity now and im hoping for some signs of mating, but still nothing.could you give me any hints tips or general advice on how to encourage this as i need all the help i can get as its my first time breeding! thanks, Em x

Punch pet shop guy in the face please. If you left them like that....imagine if they did breed when the female was only 40grams....then die...I didnt put my leos together until they were 70+ grams. But yeah crank up the heat a bit will help them. since winter just passed, the cooling period is done. They shoul start breeding anytime now.

I would separate them to their own tanks. I agree with cranking up the heat too. If you get them apart for awhile, then put them back together you should have better luck. I am not sure who said it, but think about it like this. It is like they have been married for twenty years. The male is like a middle aged man. When he is with his wife he isn’t interested. But when a young woman walks by, he is all excited. If you give them their own tank, then put them back together later. He will become very interested, and get the job done.
I hope this helps. later Ron

By any chance could they both be females or both be males?
