My baby leos so far this season.

All are raptors. Solid and snake eyes.
This is the first leo i hatched this season. I was amazed because i accidently dropped the egg.

One on the right is a patternless red eyed raptor. I was pretty happy when i seen that hatch.

Hope you all like i will have plenty more pics coming from more eggs. Now what do i do with all these temp sexed females..... lol.

Bobby you can have your pic out of these. Just let me know. Only one i plan to hold is the 1st pic and the patternless raptor.

Thanks for looking,
Bill

The babies look nice, but you REALLY need to clean those cages. IMO cages should never get to that point, honestly its pretty sad...

Actually the dung was all under caves i keep in each of them and it got moved around. Its not as bad as you look. So no its not sad. It looks 10x worse than it is.

Whether its hidden under a hide or not, there are still feces throught the cage. There are also empty water and cacuim bowls upon second look. I guess we have a different idea of what a healthy enclosure is.

Gottee guy lets see your success?

I emptied the bowls in the dirt right where i took the pics before cleaning. I only keep them on paper towels until they start eating. Then its off to the sandy dirt. Apparently I’m doing something right. They get cleaned every Friday. Fed roaches every day. Water changed every day. Calcium filled whenever its empty. There not that dirty you guys are over exaggerating. It looks much worse in pics than in person. I’m going to keep doing what I’m doing because apparently its working and i have a 100% hatch rate with adults as healthy as they will get.

Those are nice babies Bill. Gonna be hard to pick out of those....
As for the cleaning. My tanks get a bit dirty too. Hard to keep all my tanks clean constantly considering I have a good bit of leos, snakes, and other animals. Hardly have time to clean out my feeders cages. And I know Bill is a keeper. Pics are never accurate.

Huh?

If you feed and fill up their bowls on a regular basis, I dont see why you dont just change the substrate more often. I’m not trying to say that all aspects of your care is off, but cleanliness seemes to be lacking. Do what you want, I just hope it’s in the best interest of your geckos.

It is in the best interest of the geckos. I clean once a week. If you think about it your gecko should defecate every day. I keep two babies per container. When you open the lid to feed and water every day you dont see what under the hide. All of mine tend to defecate under hides. That is why i dont see it every day. It got thrown around thats why the cages look so messy.

Thanks bobby. Once you figure it out let me know. I will hold them for you. others will most likely be sold. I do not want all these females lol. I will be in way over my head next year.

Bill

Sounds about right. 2 hungry babies in one week can cause a huge mess...speak of...i gotta clean out my cages today....my females that are about to lay make the worse mess ever.....
As for the breeding in 10gallons, I really wouldnt suggest it since you can only house 1 gecko in there. You d have to introduce the male and then remove him to his tank a week after. Your best bet is to use large tubs and use about 3 females per male. I use 32 qt tubs from walmart for like 6bucks each. IMO, much better then any glass tank you can ever get for a leo. Very light weight so you dont get too lazy with cleaning. Just take it to the back and spray it down. They only sit about 6inches high which is perfect for leos since they dont enjoy climbing as much as other geckos. And fits in a rack for easy and cheaper heating. But overall, ofcourse you can breed in a 10 gallon. Ive done it and Im sure most people of this forum have before. Goodluck with it.

Don’t take offense to this, but they are all RAPTORS. Do you have enough money for a RAPTOR?

They usually begin somewhere around $95 but climb in price (like mine/his ’Red Eyed Patternless’ up above) and if he had to ship to you it’d probably be somewhere around $50 on top of that.
Just something to think about before you start setting up a purchase that’s beyond your means.
