New to breeding anything i should know?
ok i just picked up 3 baby leopard geckos, 1 albino im not sure what kind of albino looks like a bell or a las vegas, i cant tell just by looks the breeder was no help either, and i have two good looking normals, thier all still young id say around 5-6 weeks by pictures ive seen, the breeder still was no help still, ill post pictures of them maybe some of you can help me a bit more, i might be getting a tangerine, i guess my question is if my tangerine and albino have babies the babies will be tangerine het albino right? or will they be albino het tangerine? genetics confuses me... Does anybody have a list of all the dominant morphs and such? ill never be able to remember all of them. Also are normal het albinos worth producing? I heard the first line of relatives are breedable but anything farther down the family tree is troublesome? So im not sure if its worth me getting a bunch of het albino females and breeding them trying to produce pure albino...is that even possible? Any information about creating morphs and about genetics would be much appreciated very much, its just all so confusing

New to breeding anything i should know? I say not do that breeding. Normal het albino is worth as much as a normal. I sell albino for only 5 bucks more then normals. I say buy an albino and breed them together. With the market at what it is, you can get albinos pretty cheap. Maybe even get a tang het albino for about same price.
Ok, tang to albino will be normals and tang het albinos.
Geckos dont have many Dom and co-dom morphs like Ballpythons.
Doms- Tang, enigma, and stripes.
Co-dom-Mack snow (Makes mack super snows)
Recessives- Albinos, blizzards, man i know im missing out of morphs but im tired...lol

New to breeding anything i should know? ok thanks for the information on the co dominant and dominant morphs. I wasnt thinking of breeding them to sell, i was thinking of breeding them to make het albinos to possibly bring in some albinos the same age and eventually produce pure albinos using the het albinos and normal albinos i bring in later, and is it possible to create pure albinos from breeding a het albino with another het albino? Or are the odds not worth trying?

New to breeding anything i should know? With a het to het breeding you only have 25% chance of hatching out an albino. With albino to a het is 50%. I say get another albino.

New to breeding anything i should know? ok thanks a lot. i just picked up a tangerine sub adult today, i never believed people when they said that leopard geckos are addicting but they are all right. Im now looking for an albino female becuase im hoping the one i got now is a male, the breeder said its possibly a male due to incubation heat, how accurate is this method of sexing?

New to breeding anything i should know? Addicting indeed....
It really depends, ask him what temp he incubated at. The thing is if he hatched at 89 or something, its very accurate. Ive never missed one that i hatched at those temps. If he hatched at a mix temp like 85 then its questionable....

New to breeding anything i should know? he said it was incubated at 90-91 so im assuming its a male then? im just wondering if i should wait untill hes older to find it a mate or should i trust the temperature method?

New to breeding anything i should know? Ok, i really dont know why ANY breeder would incubate higher then 90. After 90 is dangerous and risk hatching out hot females. At 88-90 will already basically 99% of time give you males. And most good breeders have incubators that have very constant temps so I dont know how good of a breeder you re buying from. But yeah, most likely it will be a male.
