 Sunglow question

if you breed a tangerine het bell to a bell you will get 50% tangerine het albino, and 50% sunglow

 Sunglow question

Wishful thinking huh. Where does the normals come into this picture? Wouldnt your chance of a sunglow only be 25%? Ofcourse I dont work with glows so I dont know but generally those are the odds of a recessive to dom with a het to vis morph. Please do correct me if Im wrong.

 Sunglow question

Okay, I’m confused.

Why wouldn’t a het bell to a bell produce any bells?

boobyvu,
I agree i think there has to be normals in there somewhere too?

which would make my outcome apparently 50% tang het bells, 25% normals, 25% sunglows.

but if bells are produced, that makes 4 different outcomes, bells, tangs het bells, normals, and sunglows?

I’m still new at this, so bare with me if i don’t make any sense.

 Sunglow question

Bells will be produced. Bell to Het Bell will be 50% bells. so half babies will be bell albino and the other half is 100% het for bell. Any non bell you get from the tang het bell to bell breeding will be 100% het.
Think of it like this. Half babies will be tang from the tang breeding correct? Then 50% will be bell albino according to the odds. Then theres a 25% chance that the bell and tang will be in one gecko. That means 25% chance that a baby will not get the bell or the tang but will be 100% het for bell albino.

 Sunglow question

genetics confuse me!!!! i almost passed ou when i got a A- in it....lol i thought the ressesive gene of a bell would cause the dominate gene of a tang to get 50% tang, 25% bell, and 25% bell albino.... right???

I’m not sure but bell and bell albino are the same morph

 Sunglow question

Yes, bell is bell albino.
Tang, a dom morph will show in babies after one breeding. As a recessive morph, they only show if both parents carry it. Remember that if a Bell albino breeds to a Het for bell you will be getting half bell babies. So that means all you have to do is add in the tang morph. Tang is also 50% of babies so 1/2 X 1/2 you will be getting 1/4 chance of tang bells :)
All simple math once you figure it out

 Sunglow question

Okay, keep in mind that a "true" sunglow is just an albino (any strain) super hypo tangerine carrot tail baldy.

Tangerine Het. Bell Albino x Bell Albino=

All babies will have a varying degree of tang. (Is the tangerine het bell, a hypo as well?)

you will getboth Bells with a little bit of tang, and het bells with a little bit of tang. The bells with a little bit of tang. are not to be called sunglows in my opinion.

 Sunglow question

I agree.

I have a SHTCTB that i wanted to breed to my bell for a real sunglow project but she is still a few grams under so i’d have to wait a few months.

Only female i have thats old/weighs enough to breed is my HTCT, so that’s where we will get the tang het bells from.
