ok, i have a 20 long. the substrate is paper towls. i have a humid hide, a warm hide, n 2 cool hides. the warm side is about 90 degrees, the cool side is about 80. i have a male, who is aprox. 1 year old and about 6in long and my 2 year old female whose abot 8 in long. they have been in that tank for about 6 months, with no results. am i doing somthing wrong?

As I said in the last thread, LGs are 6 inches when they’re juvies, and that’s not sexually mature.

Sounds like he’s under-developed. Just because they are a certain age doesn’t mean they can breed. He has to be large enough, and he as to be heavy enough. Nothing(not even people) will begin to secually mature unless they’re heavy enough. At 6 inches, he’s probably not.

I had an LG that stayed at 4 inches for a year and a half.

Then he’s not 6 inches. Simple as that. I have a 9 inch LG with a tail has thick as his head and he only weighed 86.

Maybe you should remeasure him. Is he as large as the female?

Also, check and make sure he’s sexually mature. Flip him over and the two bumps under his vent should be clearly visible and the pores should look bold.
