Depending on how many females are still laying after the season ends. I usually cool down around early November and i slowly reheat them toward late December. If I’m cooling the geckos at all. I usually only cool them, if i keep them in a group.

i havent coold my geckos yet but it dosnt hurt to give them a break every now and then if you want to do the cool down period just start to lower the lighting and heat down every week by a hour then in late december so the opposite bring it up a hour every day just remember if you do cool them down feed them a lil less every time cuz if they go off and sleep for a long time then the food will sit in their stomach and rot making them very sick and costing you a lot of money in vet bills

 Cooling period

Hey all, this is just my opinion here.
My breeders are kept on a different rack so temps are different from non breeders.
Any girl that is still laying (i have 2 left) I keep in the non breeder rack so that temps are up. This keeps them eating and laying normally. Any adults that I am planning on breeding is now being cooled. Not by much though. Only 2-3 degrees. I want them to continue eating and stay fat and chunky. Cooling too much with make your males sluggish and not want to breed. Cooling just tells your females to start ovulating. Ofcourse you can get females to breed without cooling but this has worked for me and Im sticking with it ;)
I will be bumping the heat back up at the end of January. Even during the cool down, I have had females lay eggs that is why I dont drop temps that much. I actually have a female that is already looking gravid and might lay before December lol

Yeah its a bit harder to tell on females that are around 70+ grams when they become gravid. The small whites circles will tell you when shes ready to breed unless she is living with the male, cause then she will get fertilized soon heheh
