Greenish Black bolb on gecko’s skin - ?

So I was in my local pet store and they had a new adult male leo that they said an owner had not wanted anymore. They said he hated being held-but he didn’t mind me holding him so now I have a special fondness for him Smile

I noticed that on his back was a small, greenish black patch of skin.

My first thought was necrosis from a bad shed but I don’t know how to be sure. I brought it to the employees attention and they had never seen it, and their reptile expert had recently retired so no one knows what to do about it- and when I went in a week later he was still there and so was the splotch. I can’t afford another gecko right now, but i want to make sure he gets taken care of.
I haven’t been able to find any pics of necrosis online-or pics of anything like what I saw.

Does anyone have a picture of what necrosis looks like for comparison?
And, if that is what it is, how is it treated?
Any other ideas on what it might be and how I can help?

Thanks!
