Uny, my cages are all very simple. Im still working on the babies cage. I will put a blue color construction paper on the outside. But Betty has 3 hides, paper towel substrate and a few bowls. However, I really like the cartoon cactuses on another thread, might have to go to target and see what legos they have. Everything is pretty much the same for babies as with adults. Except the food items need to be smaller. And I believe temps can go as high as 95 and is better for them. Should I get even smaller mealworms? I have just the regular size for my other leo’s. They did sell the mini mealworms at petco, however they looked all dead. |

My advice for extra baby leos: -Don’t handle them if you can help it (unless they are sick or you need to clean out the cage) they are stressed very easily and think everyone is a predator (they will hiss and JUMP out of your hands to unknown doom). You’ll know when they are ready to be handles when they start coming out of their hides and roaming around on their own - and when you put your hand in the cage they will come up and lick you to check you out. -extra important to keep them on paper towels - no particulate substrate - but thats a no brainer -Make sure the food is TINY too. (less then the width of their head) -And ENJOY them and take lots of pictures cuz they grow up fast! |
