 Yay!!

So I went to petco today, to buy some things I needed. As I always do, I started to look at the reptile section, and the geckos. And there I saw a carrot tail gecko. I got so excited, since seeing them on here, I have wanted one. They are babies also. Well what do you know, there were 3. The first one was a high yellow? its body was yellow and patternless but had some markings on the tail. Then I saw her. You can’t see it in the photo’s very well, but she is like a bright orange color with a little bit of a carrot tail. I couldn’t resist. (just what i need, another gecko. ha!)

So meet Betty.

so what do you think? She’s in a 10 gallon, but will move when she is bigger.

wow - Petcos near me only have normals and once in a while an albino - and they are almost always half-dead. Congradulations, she’s beautiful and looks so bright and healthy!

 Yay!!

Thanks guys, she was very busy last night, running around. I put some cricket in there for her.
Uny, my cages are all very simple. Im still working on the babies cage. I will put a blue color construction paper on the outside. But Betty has 3 hides, paper towel substrate and a few bowls.

However, I really like the cartoon cactuses on another thread, might have to go to target and see what legos they have.

Everything is pretty much the same for babies as with adults. Except the food items need to be smaller. And I believe temps can go as high as 95 and is better for them.

Should I get even smaller mealworms? I have just the regular size for my other leo’s. They did sell the mini mealworms at petco, however they looked all dead.

 Yay!!

you should read other people’s posts for advice and post your own thread to get more advice. People won’t see you if you just post in someone else’s thread. :)

My advice for extra baby leos:
-Don’t handle them if you can help it (unless they are sick or you need to clean out the cage) they are stressed very easily and think everyone is a predator (they will hiss and JUMP out of your hands to unknown doom). You’ll know when they are ready to be handles when they start coming out of their hides and roaming around on their own - and when you put your hand in the cage they will come up and lick you to check you out.
-extra important to keep them on paper towels - no particulate substrate - but thats a no brainer
-Make sure the food is TINY too. (less then the width of their head)
-And ENJOY them and take lots of pictures cuz they grow up fast!

Ok now I’m thinking Tangerine carrot tail. I don’t think she’s a super hypo, because she has some pattern on her. Correct me if I’m wrong.
