 3 young leos

i have three young leos and they are all different morphs as soon as i get pics i will show pics of them and my setup. But i have them all in the same tank and they seem to get along. is that ok because i was told at the pet shop it was fine. Does anybody think different should i go bigger or stay the same.

What size is the tank? You will need at least a 30gallon when they are full grown.

One tank is fine while they’re little as long as you have enough places to hide.

As they grow you’ll need to watch for their gender, as well as increase cage size. All males must be kept alone. Two or more males together will fight violently, and a male with any number of females will breed. Breeding too early and/or too often will drastically shorten a leo’s life and females especially will be more likely to have many health problems.

An all female group can be kept together their entire lives so long as none are bullied too much. It is recommended to have ten gallons per adult gecko. You don’t want to start out that big, though. Too much space can and will stress any gecko out.

Hope that helps!

Long is better. Many leos like to climb, but the floor space is more important. A twenty long still gives you plenty of room to install a "rock wall."

Telling the sex is a bit harder for the inexperienced. I’m not all that experienced myself in sexing the young ones. Adults I can do, but that’s not much help. I’ll give you some links with pics, and my best advice as long as you have them together is to just keep checking them, and separate at the first signs of bullying. (You can use tank dividers to do the separating, too. So long as all the temps are good.)

I use custom cages, but if there’s a flea market near you that may be a good place to check. If your pet store doesn’t have one, they should be able to order it in for you. (Stores that specialize in aquatic animals are a great source of aquariums, as long as their prices are fair.) There are fake rock walls available at pet stores, too. Or even online, and googling "fake rock wall" will get you several "how to" sites to make your own. Checking the sites of big chain pet stores can give you an idea of what can be ordered. If there’s a reptile show near you, that’s a good place to check, too. Good luck!

And thanks ^_^ I know I try to be helpful and only comment now when I’m sure of what I’m saying. Make sure any "rock" wall you get or make is properly secured, and won’t hurt your geckos if part of it falls.
