The great question. Ok not really a great question, but dont you wish there was a safe substrate that looked good? Of coarse its worth it being ugly for your geckos health, but does anybody have Idea’s / suggestions?

The great question. Tile and slate look fantastic.. But unless you’re digging for upset posts from members reeping at you about how bad sand is, have you ever heard of GeckoHappy? He used kitty litter liner trays and some plaster, building this absolutely fantastic, realistic-looking leopard gecko enclosure a long while back. That’s about the best you are going to get in terms of what you’re asking, though the process to acheive what he did would be long and probably expensive in term of paints and primers.
I’m sure someone can find the photos if they’re still around of that tank. Or at least something similar to it.

The great question. I think just rocks on top of tile/repticarpet/shelf liner looks awewsome if you can find some cool colors. I have an albino that is pink and yellow and I found this big flay rock that matches him/her - and it’s his favorite place to lay and his feeding dish :)
