 Humid hide

They usually only use it for shedding purposes. Is your leo shedding and not useing it?

It could be either the size of the opening, or the type of bedding you have in there. My leo loves her humid hide, but she will not go in it if I just leave the moss on the bottom of the hide (I use a whole coolwhip container with a hole cut in one side). I have to take the moss, soak it for a few hours, wrap it up in paper towel to make a sort of pillow and then wet the whole thing down with hot water. She will go straight into it, as long as the paper towels are covering the moss, so maybe your leo is picky too?
I use flukers spanish moss by the way, not sphagnum since I can’t seem to find it anywhere.

My girls HATE their humid hide. I was using moss and they wouldn’t go in it. I started thinking sice they had never had one before I got them (2 years without one!!) they were just used toshedding without one. They both have toes that look messed up and a missing toe. So I kept trying...I finally put moist paper towel in there and now they won’t get off of it!

Moss can be very acidic depending on the type. Try coco-peat. It hold moisture well and makes for an excellent hide box substrate.

Lol yah I know, She lunged at the camera and surprisingly it’s not the first time she’s tried to eat the camera when I’m photographing her or filming her. Maybe she thinks the lens is a big fat worm?! lol!
