today is the day i get my first gecko, Stickers. She/he is going to b a super snow. i hope i can keep it alive as long as they are meant to b alive. 20 years is a long time....i am going to try my best^^wish me luck

Must have been fast research and a fundraiser maybe.

We have been researching them for a year and just ordered it tonight. We still need to have a fundraiser - lol. Hubby is not so happy with how much a little leo cost :)

I don’t see how research on something has to take months. Really, I don’t. I read a 408 page book today and can tell you everything about the book. It may take some people that long to read some things, but about GECKO? Though I know everything about Leos, I can pick an animal I know nothing about and sit on the computer all night tonight and know everything about it by midnight. What’s the big deal? My God. Seriously, you guys have been bashing this kid for a couple posts now. First of all, how do you know she didn’t spend all night last night reading about geckos? It doesn’t take months to research something. And even if it does for you, what makes you so sure she’s not a fast learner? As far as the money needed and whether she had it, it’s their family’s business if her mom decided to buy everything for her...

I read the post from yesterday that someone just mentioned about the OP doing research. I’m absolutely ashamed at how people at a forum can treat a 13 year old. (Not to say you’re a little kid or anything) It’s apparent to me (as an adult) when a post is made by a child, a teenager, and an adult (although some of them sound like kids too). When I see a post that’s apparently from a younger person, I treat that person with nothing but respect and understanding, unlike what I saw in that previous post. Either it was an immature adult being rude to the poor kid, or that person was a kid themself. It’s appalling to see rude behavior/responses from an adult when some of the posts they’re answering to are apparently from younger people. You should be more mature than that person, or at least more civilized. I completely understand as a mother, that child’s mother coming onto this forum and being furious as to how others came and accused her daughter of lying and being completely rude to her. She spammed a forum, so what? She’s 13, and she stated it. Ask politely for her to stop, like an adult. It’s apparent most of those who try to rudely tell other people what to do are mostly other teenagers yourselves, and a lot of the times, it shows.

Some people take things WAY too seriously on this forum. She did one night of research. Ooooh. Lock her up. Come on now. You guys started somewhere too. And if you can tell me that your parents not ONCE ever bought you a pet at a young age without requiring you to do 3 years of research, congratulations, you’re the first. Don’t even ask how many hamsters went to hamster heaven because of me when I was a little kid. God. It’s not that serious.

For your information, I stood up for this kid. No body knows everything about an animal, and you certainly don’t know everything in one night. The mom said that Gecko_lover would be doing lots of research. I don’t think one night is lots of research.

I’m actually very open minded and loose on things, but I don’t think it’s a good idea for the lizard’s sake to think lots of research is one night on the computer. I don’t take months to research things, but I do take a week or two and I have EVERYTHIng set up and ready. Gecko_Lover probably does not have everything ready since yesterday she knew nothing about them and just complained about the price of all the stuff she would need.

Well, I am really glad that some one here has a heart. She thought that was getting it today but, I had to tell her e had to wait till next weekend at least so that way I will be in a better postion to help her with the cost. She did not know this when she got home from school today because I was not home from work yet. Well she knows this now and she has bought a book and a lady from the pet store gave her another website to check out hopefully will she will not have to be critizied for every little thing she says. But do not think that she won’t be back because we have found some kinds souls on this site and we will most definitly have more questions.
