SMARTICLE MOMENT!!!!!!

Alright I was tinking (not the best idea) u can make yr own tank! Take 5 peices of glass (my grandma can cut dem) and use aquarium sealent to seal ’em togeta then you canm make a top with wood and wire!!! then i can make a tank all by myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wha Cha Tink????

You should have a cable that came with your camera. You can plug in right into the computer. There’s different ways of doing it like putting your memory card into your printer. It’s hard to say because It depends on what you’re working with. I’m sure that’s something you can get hands on help with at home.

Yes people build tanks all the time. Wood, glass, Plastic, everything. Many people do this when making ethier custom styles (rock walls ect.) or building large tanks. Just be sure to let the fumes from the sealant air out for a while

Ya, I also found it more expensive than just buying a tank, sadly. Plexiglass is expensive and real glass is dangerous...I made a snake "tank" out of a giant plastic visionarium thing...that also ended up being about the same price as a tank. I also made a pretty sweet chameleon cage out of wood and screen - that was great cuz screen in cheap - but it was really heavy. I love "do it yourself" stuff, but over and over I find tanks are actually reasonably priced to begin with, so I use my creativity on the INSIDE of the tank - epoxying rocks into caves and cliffs and whatnot is quite fun :)

im not sure if kilili has a usa link but i know in canada its one of the best places to find some stuff cheap for example i just got a male and female cornsnake and 2 tanks for 100bucks i see tanks on it all the time some times for really cheap like 50 bucks for a 50 gallon tank so check it out i get alot of my reptiles from there cuz people dnt want them anymore so ill buy them and give them a good home or if you can find a site freecycle this is another way to get lumber and glass for nothing i built a snake tank from getting stuff from there all it cost me was 10 dollars for screws and stains i ended up selling it for 200 dollars so check it out in your area you never know what you can find

Yes, this is possible especially for a dry tank (aquariums require much tighter clearances and I would not advise this for anyone without a lot of experience).
Unfortunately this will be much more expensive than buying a tank. Really anything 75 gallon or below are typically cheaper to buy than to build if using glass. With some other materials it becomes slightly more feasible, but still I would not advise it.

I don’t understand how real glass is dangerous. Yes it can crack or shatter, but mainly that is due to using glass that is too thin for the area it spans; however, this is true for any material. Also leopard geckos pose no real threat to the glass like a large snake does.

Ya, I live in CA, so I’m always thinking of earthquakes - something hitting it - it might shatter
I was also referring to just making it, when you get fresh cut glass it is very sharp and you have to know how to over the edges somehow.

I’ve never dealt with a glass shop that doesn’t offer edging. They might charge extra for a polished edge, but they always edge (dull) them unless asked not to.
