 Shedding issues

hey i noticed that my gecko has shed skin still on three of his toes, but everywhere else is clean. i am a little worried because there is a small purple coloration on one toe as if circulation is having issues and was wondering what i could do. i tries rubbing a little with a damp piece of gauze but it was hard to keep him in one place and after a while he made a sound at me so i stopped, also tried soacking his feet for a few minutes in warm water...what do i do?

OK, first of all... Does he have a moist or humid hide? :-)

I put in a tennis ball container with a hole in the lid and a damp paper towel, saw her in there this morning... will the skin come off even if it has been there a while or what will happen?

Just keep soaking it, their toes are fragile enough that if you try pulling the skin off you may end up ripping his claw off too. You can find commercially available Shed-Aid products at most any pet store, I don’t know if they work because I have never had problems with my Reptiles to where I would need something like that. But, it can’t hurt to try something like that as well. Keep us updated. :-)

Well if you got it off that’s good. Sorry I took so long to reply, just been too busy to even think about touching a computer. He may lose a toe, it’s sad to see I know. But, it won’t be the end of the world, just keep it clean if he does and hope he doesn’t. :-)
