Are you saying you just got it and automatically put it in the same enclosure? If that’s the case from what I have bred and what everyone else as you should never do that. You should quarantine her from 90 to 30 days. In a separate enclosure to make sure that she will be okay and isn’t going to pass any parasites that you might not see.
And since I’m not a breeder I would never do that.
The only reason you should be putting them together is if you know your knowledge and are inexperienced breeder. Or are moving on to the next step.
Are they both about the same size?
I’m sure other people will tell you differently from what I have said I just know from what I have read

Hello,

A new leo should NEVER be introduced to your established leopard geckos until he/she has gone through a 90 day quarantine period. Not only shouldn’t they be introduced but they shouldn’t even be in the same room. Even if your new addition looks perfectly healthy he/she could be harboring many various parasites that can cause serious health issues. These health problems can be so incredibly severe.

You are going to need to separate them, keeping the two leos in a different room. Reflex has started a wonderful discussion on low cost enclosures. Here’s a Link for you.

Please remember to wash your hands really well after interacting or cleaning the new leo’s cage. These harmful conditions are easily transferred.

Also, a female and a male shouldn’t be kept in the same cage. A male will overly try to mate with a female. This can be very harmful to the female.

Please keep us informed on how your leos do.

By the way, Congrats on the new addition!

Holly

hello i know i always start this kinda disscution about housing males and females i think its perfectly fine to do so but you know they are going to breed right? anyways YOU MUST TAKE EVERY THING OUT AND WASH IT males will mark their territory and when you bring in a new addition they get irritated and will attack the new one so by taking every thing out and cleaning it you take the sent away and the male will have no problem with the female being there also in the spring and early summer they will breed so if possible and your wanting to breed them get another female or even 2 more thus will have the male not just paying attention to one female i have 3 females in one tank and if i take the male out the females will actually go into mourning and stop eating there is no issuse with housing them togethere but alot of first time leo owners have no idea what it takes to raise hatchlings i do breed geckos and other various reptiles and have alot of time and money invested in all my exotics
