Ok things are getting serious So my little Allie has had shed stuck on her head for a while now. I posted here when she had some stuck in her eye and I was told to use a qtip and water to peel it off. The shed came out of her eye bit not off her head. Now her over eye is closed up due to dry skin build up (I’m guessing) now the other issue is she looks like she is going to shed again! I don’t know what to do and I’m so stressed out and I feel absolutely terrible that I let it get this far but the shed just doesn’t seem to want to come off :( please could someone tell me what I should do? :(

Ok things are getting serious If she’s going to shed again, it will most likely come off this time around.

Ok things are getting serious If stuck shed is becoming a problem then you need to give the leo a bath just fill a container up the leo’s chest with warm water he may not like it at first but he’s going to have to deal with it also do you have a humid hide? If you don’t just take a Tupperware container cut a hole in it big enough so the leo can get in and put damp paper towels inside or some people use moss from the pet stores. They have shed aids at pet stores as well I’ve heard a little olive oil ( just little drops of it) working well for stuck shed just be careful not to get any of this in his eyes or nose. And a lot of times if there’s an old stuck shed and another ones is about to happen then no it doesn’t just come off it’s going to build up. If push comes to shove then VERY slowly and carefully peel the old stuck shed off after it’s been loosened up by a bath if the leo pulls away then stop in extreme measures should you ever peel the shed off for them. Try the first methods first then go for the last one as a last resort.

Ok things are getting serious I actually had to deal with something like this just this morning Haha. I bought shed-ease from PetCo and according to the instructions made my Leo a warm, shallow bath. I let him soak for about 10 minutes and then used a wet q-tip, a few cotton balls and some mini-tweezers to remove some stuck shed from my gecko’s head and toes. I used the cotton ball to dampen the shed around the eyes and then the q-tip to rub off as much as possible then I used the tweezers to get the rest of it. I’m sure he feels a lot better now Haha. Hopefully I helped a bit :)

Ok things are getting serious Does she have a humid hide in her terrarium? If not make her one http://www.leopardgeckoguy.com/2010/04/moss-pot-why-moist-hide-is-vital.html
Also, I would use a little olive, coconut or jojoba oil on the spots that are having a hard time coming off, rub it in the stuck shed really well and it will come off in no time. If she has a good humid hide she shouldn’t be having any problems though
