My new addition!! you shouldnt use sand in your setup.your gecko could accidently eat it and become impacted.that is when it gets stuck in their intestines and they cant digest food properly.

My new addition!! You should be using tile, paper towels or reptile carpet. If you keep it on the sand, or any loose substrate for that matter, you are asking for trouble. Also, this is the Tokay gecko forum. You have a leopard gecko.

My new addition!! ah the old sand argument ...... well how big is he??? i breed leos and usualy keep them on papertowel and advise if using sand wait till their atleast 6 inches all of my breeders are on sand at this moment and i have 2 10yearold leos that have been on sand very fine washed play sand soince they where about 2 years old....and they are fine i just dont trust calcium sand since it clump together when wet and hardens afterwords and the grain is to bigg.... if u use sand with larger leos u can be good with fine grain washed play sand u dont have to listen to the critics lol
