 Getting new Tokay

I just wanted to ask a quick question. I’m getting a tokay that these people want to get rid of. Right now they have sand as substrate. My knowledge of sand for any type of reptile is that its not good for them at all. I wanted to see if the same goes for the tokay?

yea don’t use sand.
either use eco earth, dirt, or paper towels if its young.

I use paper towels in my Tokay’s enclosure. She is in an Exxo Terra. I did have aspen and eco earth in there at one point, but she always eats her crickets on the floor of the tank (doesn’t even mess with the climbers), so she was getting a lot of it in her mouth. Also, it’s easier to clean and cheaper. She is a very defensive girl, so I don’t like keeping my hands in there for more than a few seconds at a time. Here’s a pic of my little bratty, Took.
