Vita Spray?!! Please read!
Hey all. I have a huge question for you. Ok, tonight I went to the pet store for food for my Tokay. Well, while I was there I bought some (Four Paws) Nature’s Reptile Vita-spray. Have any of you used this stuff? It says to spray him from the neck to the tail once a day. It provides vitamins, electrolytes, prevents the skin drying and helps them stay healthy and live longer. I sprayed him with it when we got home, and it like paralyzed him. He started sliding down the glass and wouldn’t move, he looked like he was dead for about 5 minutes. I mean I could actually pick him up and he didn’t bark or open his mouth at me, he didn’t move. Now I find this to be kind of weird. On the box to the spray it says it can be used on all species of reptiles. And there is a pic of a lizard on the box, also, the guy at the pet store told me it would be ok for him, he should know what he’s talking about because they sell Tokay’s at that store. Ok, I’m done babbling now. Anyone knows anything about this, please respond.

Vita Spray?!! Please read! No offense, but I’d throw it in the garbage. I’ve seen the stuff you are talking about at pet stores and it reminds me of armor-all with a different wrapper. I just don’t trust using stuff on my animals that I don’t know exactly what it is. It’s probably ok, but like anything else in this world down the road they may say that stuff causes cancer. Who knows?

Vita Spray?!! Please read! Probably won’t kill him if it hasn’t yet and most likely wont do him much good. Some companies will brain storm ideas like this product and make a few claims like it is so beneficial and your pet will look better and feel better and wonder how he ever got along without it. People see it on the shelf at the pet shop and because they love their pet(s)and want to do all they can to keep them happy and healthy...they buy it and try it and the results are usually not noticeable or very minimal at best. All of that just to make a buck off of us pet lovers. I’m not sure if reptiles can absorb vitamins through their skin or not but probably not due to their scales and if they could, most of us would have already stopped dusting their food items and started spraying them instead because it SO EASY!!! Sounds like the negatives out way the positives and not worth using again if it puts the little fellow into shock. You might want to keep that bottle of Vita Spray around for "just in case."".....Ya never know when you might need an emergency Tokay Taser! lol I hope he has recovered and forgiven you for using that spray on him...
