Lost Sticky Power? I think my Tokay has lost her sticky power! My seven year old Tokay has been acting strange for the past few weeks – she has been hanging out on the ground! I became concerned and decided to take her out for a look (maybe shed had something to do with it). There was no shed problem, but I did notice the pads of her feet no longer felt sticky like they once did and the color was no longer white but now brown. I’ve been told they can’t loose their sticky feet but it really appears as if mine has – any ideas??

Lost Sticky Power?
Hi... It sounds like it might not be quite humid enough in her enclosure and still has her old dried skin on her pads. It happens every so often and until you spray or soak her feet in some water to soften the old skin up and gently rub it off with your fingers she won’t be able to climb on really smooth surfaces. That is the most likely reason she has been "grounded." The only other thing I can think of causing that is in the unlikelyhood of you placing a heat rock in her enclosure for supplemental heating purposes and she fried her pads on it but I doubt you did that. Try what I said and I betcha she’ll be climbing the walls b4u know it!

Yes I agree with Greggecko!!! Got old layers on her feet.. Otherwise they wouldn’t be brown.. So make sure she feet are nice and wet so you can peel them off for her if she lets you.. Or she’ll peel them off the next time she sheds.. Good luck!
