 Tokay Gecko???

At last I have the oppurtunity to get meself a reptile! Will all you Tokay Gecko keepers advice me whether it is wise for me to start with one. I’m an avid herper but have never kept any animals so HELP ME!

Are you looking for something that can be handled regularly? Are you aware of the Tokay gecko’s anti-social personality or the fact that when they bite they will hold on for a long time? It hurts too. I know there are some people on here who have tame Tokays, but it’s not likely that you will find one in a pet store. I own a Tokay and I love her, but she only gets handled when necessary because of her nasty attitude. Take all of this into account before you make your decision.

Yeah, I was aware they had a bit of a temper on ’em. I’m still not certain, I would like something I could handle safely but I really love them! A dilemma!!! I know somewhere I can get one but have you any other ideas for a begginner with a limited budget?

I own 11 leopard geckos and they are my easiest lizards to take care of. They are fairly cheap. Just read up on some care sheets. It’s your choice, so you need to make sure you are happy with what you choose and you can care for it. Good luck.
