Any help or info would be nice  hi i just bought a tokay from a local breeder with all its paper work even tho it is captive breed obviously still a very agressive animal i breed leos of all different types and have tegus 2 uromastyx and a few others all of my animals except one of my uros i have traind and they are very loving and i handle all of my animals daily ive been looking up two things maybe u can help me with 1 is what is the corect way to pick up a tokay since ive only read not to wold them from the middle of thier boddys but not what the right way is and how to start trying to make him / her more docile since tegus are very easy to tame and leopard geckos just take a little time i have done much much research on takoays and was just wondering about some tips p.s. he bit me last night while trying to clean his tank a little so i allreayd am aware they bite hard lol ./...
any info would be great ... thanks

Any help or info would be nice  just touch him while hes in the cage for about a month or so, then start to hold him in his cage...then try to take him out..but only for short periods at first. Also let him settle into his home for a week of two before you start any of this...

Any help or info would be nice  ok but how am i going to tuch him when he instently bites onto me if i get within 6 inches of him lol no im just kidding i understand ile just slowly get closser and closser to him throughout the days eventualy he will get used to me its just weird ive never owend such an aggreseive reptile even my red tegu wasnt so bad and he was the worst of the clutch lol but when cleaning him tank how would i go about properly holding my tokay i just dont want to hurt him while removin him to clean out his tank

Any help or info would be nice  yea well when i first brought him home i new he was going to bite me when i took him out of the box and im kinda an idiot i guess but i was curious as to how hard they bite so i took him out without a glove and yea they bite hard lol

Any help or info would be nice  Here is how I usually hold them (but put your thumb down behind his head.) They seem to somewhat tolerate it and have never been bitten while doing it this way...I’m sure there are a lot of ways you could but whatever works for you!
