Lighting/heating question 
I have had my tokay for about a year now. I am not exactly sure what size my terrarium is but i know its big enough for him/her, (it). Now I have had florescent light and 60 watt bulb on it and it would also looked pissed off (dark coloring). Now i have taken the heat light and just use the florescent bulb and my tokay is a nice color and seems to be doing fine. Now i think the room its in is basically just room temperature, i think it can get pretty cold at night but at night its coloring is at its best.
Is the heat light necessary? It gets pissed when there is one so ya. The only thing i am worried about is that it might need some heat to help digest food? I though all reptiles needed some sort of heat to help them do that, i could be wrong though.

he does need the heat to digest. it is suggested that tokays have a basking spot of 85-95F. if he doesn’t like the light maybe place a small heating pad on the side of the tank behind some of his leaves and stuff so he has a warm spot to sit at. you’ll probably need a thermostat or a dimmer so it doesn’t get too hot. i use just a red 60 watt bulb with mine and she loves it. it works great for her.

ya after i made my post i decided to put the bulb back on him. i think i may have figured my problem out as well, my bulb was not 60 watt it was a 100, so i think the tank may have been to small for a 100 watt so i got him on a 60 now, and i put my 100 watt on my golden geckos. (the light on the golden geckos just broke, good timing huh?)
im running the 60 watt 24 hours, and the florescent uvb for 10 hours. he seems to have the good coloring and just ate some wax worms. i figured id give him a treat since i took his heat away.
