Message:I am Brien Rocha and I own four reptiles right now, and am looking for three more.I own two Leopard Geckos, a Corn Snake, and a Crested Gecko.I am looking to get a Timor Monitor, and a pair of Amazon Tree Boas.
This store does not care for there Reptiles and Amphibians properly.I do not know about the rest of the animals, because I only own reptiles.
First, the bearded dragons were housed on sand (a huge issue with them, because it causes impaction) up until a short while ago.They are supposed to be housed on paper towels, carpet (Which is what is used now thankfully at my request).
The leopard geckos are housed without a humid hide, and are housed babies with adults, along with the sand issue again. A humid hide is basically what the name suggests, it is a hiding place where the geckos can retreat to that is humid.Leopard geckos cannot be housed on sand because they lick there surroundings to "taste" the air.It is there way of seeing there surroundings.If babies are housed with adults, early breeding can occur, along with cannibalism.
The ball pythons are housed with VERY low humidity, and little to no heat.They require 80-85F with a basking site of 90F.They require 60% humidity and 80% when shedding.
One more thing, whenever I go in there, I always point out one or more DEAD animals in the cages.

I hope they really do something about it. Maybe everybody should start writing them emails maybe then somebody will listen..... OOOH OHHH OOOOH!!!

I know! We can organize a email posting where everybody emails them the truth about the local petco in the area and we all send them at the same time!!! hee hee....

When I was at petsmart, the animals seemed to be doing ok ’cept the water dragon had 20 percent humidity. They’re supposed to have 60-80%. I told them and they went to fix it.
