New Tokay Gecko Hi, I work at a pet store and someone special ordered a Female Tokay gecko. She has been sitting in or store for over a month (in a tank set up for her of course) and today my manager decided to let me have her for 50% off since the guy never came in for her. I keep lots of geckos, mostly Rhacs and a few Satanics. All of which don’t need heat. I did have a old 15 watt red bulb and uvb plus a planted 20 gallon tank. Should this be fine? The UV is on a timer (12 on/12 off) and I mostly have it for the plants. Let me know if I forgot any thing. Oh... and I was thinking of feeding roaches and large crickets and a pinky once in a great while. Will that be okay? Let me know and I will get some pictures up soon.

New Tokay Gecko I checked w/ my temp gun and the temps were a little 2 low...only getting to about 79f. So I dug around and found an old 60 watt night glow and hooked it up. It is now reading at 95f in the warmest spot. =)

New Tokay Gecko that all sounds fine, 95 is more than you need though, i think it’s 85-90 for the day, some say 80-85

New Tokay Gecko SO do you think I should just put the 15 watt back in or see if I can find a 50 watt? (95f is the warmest spot in the tank, the coolest is 80F)

New Tokay Gecko OKay, I found something that will do it. A 25 watt night glow. LOL you would be surprised at how may reptile things I have in my house. Over 20 years of herping and you will end up with a ton of reptile stuff. ;)
Funny thing is this is my very first Tokay.
I’ll post pictures of the tan on anther post tomarrow when I have better light for taking pictures.
