 65 gallon tank

How many Tokays can fit in a 65 gallon tank (36L,18W,24H,)?

1 male 1 female- THEY WILL BREED
2 females

NEVER house two males together

I wouldnt suggest any more then two. Lizards like this are solitary animals and do not enjoy living in groups and can become quite territorial and dominant when it comes to sharing their home.

That and if my information is correct a 30 gallon is recommended for one? so a 65 would only work for two.

And if they do become territorial or fight you can always place an opaque devider down the middle.

I have a 55 gallon with 5 Tokay’s (2 breeders, and 3 offspring), 2 chubby frogs and a baby slider turtle. Contrary to what I have read, I’ve always had these animals living all together and they haven’t bothered each other.

I have 2 tokays in a 75 gallon and I would suggest not having any more than that, mine are two females and they get along great with each other but i cant see squeezing another one in there being safe. They are a good size lizard and need their space.

iv had tokays for a long time the rule more or less is one per 15- 20 gallon tank i have had 3 in a 33 gallon and the are happy big and healthy im not keeping them in there much longer want to clear the tank out for creasties!!
