Tokay feeding question 
hi, i just got my tokay gecko today, i put three crickets in the tank and its been over 6 hours and he hasnt eatin one, is this normal when they r getting used to the new enviornment. also how many full size crickets should i put in at once

he may be getting accustom to the new tank.give it a night or 2.i say night because they are nocturnal hunters.mine eats grasshoppers in a can,crickets and rat pinkies.
place a piece of carrot in the tank so the crickets have something to munch on besides you gecko’s toes.carrots are the best choice considering they dry out rather than rot like apples or potatoes.
if it does not eat within a week i would consult a vet.wild caught tokays are notorious for worms and when captured,the stress will cause the tokay to refuse feeding.this plus the parasites leads to death within a few weeks.
i have 1/4 inch ratwire on the top of my 35 hex along with the aquarium lid.i simply scratch the top.it has gotten used to the sound and identifies it with feeding.he’ll come out and up the wall to eat from my hand.however i don’t stick my hand in there,i slide the prey item through the screen and he pulls it through.i keep doing this until he is full.if you are lucky to get them to respond as i did,it’s not underfeeding you have to worry about.i had to cut back because Stikky Fingaz began to have "no-neck".he just came off the diet a little while back.

Like he said above, just give the tokay some time and he’ll probably start eating. Most of the time when lizards do that, it’s from stress.

if you can get them to feed from tongs they can.mine comes to the top when i scratch the wires on the screen part of the top.
