You may be able tp put a piece of plexi ontop of the bottom piece of glass, and then "silly-cone" it in to fill in the gaps so no crud gets between the panes. I made my own top for my 75gallon fish tank and my 29 gallon "waterless" tank. I call it that because there is no calking left on any of the corners..and its not a rectangular tank!
