Name Changes and New Friends! A while back my wife saw one of the two adult Bibrons I got and thought were female go after the other one. I separated them thinking they were females just squabbling over food. I did a little more research (not alot out there on Bibrons) that said males have brighter white spots than females. I took a look @ my pair and noticed both had gotten bigger (0.5") since I got ’em and their spots were very bright/vivid/distinct. Males! So, the aggressor that I’d previously dubbed "Minerva" is now called Professor Snape. Loki kept his name since I thought it was fine either for a boy or girl, and now I’ve got a true Minerva. Sunday I went back to that little mom & pop pet shop expecting to see the 3 small Bibrons they had, advertised as Tokays, but there was only one left. I got her! No white spots at all. So now she is truly Minerva! She’s only a baby (4" long)... well, "juvie" would be more accurate. She was pretty freaked cuz she spent most of her first day w/ me @ work in one if those plastic Kritter Keepers. True to Bibrons form, however, when I came home from work she was up on the glass staring @ her food bowl... little hog!reako45

Name Changes and New Friends! As soon as I get a camera and figure out how to post pics I definitely will. I do plan to breed them also... BUT (and I’m hoping this isn’t the case) the other day I looked @ Shaka, the little one that I rescued and saw white spots pretty distinctly on her(?) back. When I first got her she didn’t have any! So it’s possible that I could have 3 males and only 1 female... not good if I hope to establish a little breeding colony. I’m going to check back @ that little pet store where I got Minerva and see if they’ve got any more females.reako45
