 Invasion of the baby crickets

Every so often I get that wild hair and attempt to breed our own crickets. Each time I have very little success, mostly because of the refusal to give up a heated enclosure for them.
Now for the 3rd time in 3 months our African Fat-Tail enclosure is crawling with the lil buggers. Each time previous we completely emptied the substrate (into the garden area) and started fresh. I’d keep them and let them grow, but I really don’t want the AFT’s to be nibbled at while they sleep.
This time before the dump scene I placed a small container in there with “some cricket food and moisture”…. Maybe I can get a dish of them out and save them for the baby beardies…???

I’m not sure about that. It seems like it would take more effort than just buying them.
