 Pictus gecko care

*sigh* i think im going to get a pictus gecko.. im content with my current menagerie but i just feel bad for him.. im setting up a tank and am going to go yell at the petstore in the morning and pick him up. hes thin, looks dehydrated, and has a poorly done setup.
ive done some research and have a spare ten gallon and plenty of accessories (i have cresteds, afts, leos, and beardies already).. im just wondering if i should stick with paper towel or use my organic dirt/clay/eco earth mix like i use for my afts and cresties.. i like planting my tanks and would love to give this little fellow a planted tank to help it stay humid.
id also like to know about food options for him.. i know they can eat crickets.. will they eat mealies as well or are they more like afts in the sense they wont eat things that dont move a lot?
any other tips for pictus care?

The petstore here has their pictus set up in a eco earth substrate, so I would think your dirt mixture would be fine, as this little guy was quite chubby and healthy looking. . . definately post pictures when you get him or her!! Good for you for helping the little guy out . . .

someone actually bought him before i came back in. i hope the didnt pay full price for it.. he was very thin and not in great shape.
