House Gecko-curious bumps...?
I’ve had house geckos for over 8 months now... They have been doing well and have shown no signs of sickness... However; my female, (Sam), resently seems to have aquired a couple of bumps on her neck; one on either side of the under side of her neck... She does not seem sick and is eating well... What could be causing these bumps... what is it... and how do I get rid of them? I really hope its something simple ’cause I don’t have any money for a vet visit... PLEASE HELP!

House Gecko-curious bumps...? This is a pic of their habitat, that I just added bark hides to in the last 2 1/2 months.. Could that be a possible cause.. Alergic reaction?

Luckily, the male that lives with her is perfectly health... When I can get a good pic of her bumps I will post it... Again, any help would be great...

House Gecko-curious bumps...? We’d really have to see these bumps.
For the record, all animals can/will require vet assistants and should not be acquired if you cannot provide proper vet visits.

House Gecko-curious bumps...? Do the bumps seem to be in any sort of pattern? Maybe the male bit the female a little hard on the neck during mating? With out seeing the "bumps" thats the only thing I can think of. =)
Good Luck!

House Gecko-curious bumps...? They are two identical semi-oval shaped bumps.. They’re the same color as the rest of her skin... I’m having problems getting a pic of her as of recent... She really likes her new hiding spot and rarely comes out during the day... obviously because they are nocturnal... sometimes she sits on her bark, but doesn’t hang out on the glass where I can see the bumps very often.. as soon as she lets me see them again, I’ll snap a couple pics... Come to think of it, they are kind of gecko mouth shaped.... And I have witnessed them showing signs of mating...
Here’s a pic I caught of them... If you look closely the male is actually on top of the female...

House Gecko-curious bumps...? I would think they are bites from mating. Geckos are very good healers and unless she stopped eating or was acting strange I would not worry about it. There are things you could put on it to help it heal BUT if its in a spot the male will get a mouth full of while mating then its not a good idea.

Alright, I’ll keep an eye out for any strange behavior.... She seems to be eating and is active... So I’m not too concerned yet... As I said.. If I get a chance to take a pic I’ll post it... Thanks for the help in the mean time... ttyl

Good news! The bumps on her neck have disappeared... The must have been mating wounds after all... Thanks for all the help!
