 New House Gecko

Hi i have a new house gecko. Few things i need to ask. First how do i tell male from female. Second i bought the crickets and got Super Worms from the company Bugs Co all from petco. The ting with the worms is that i dont know if th flakes inside are safe for it to digest so need to know that. And the person that got us the gecko said it only eats live food is that true? Im perfectly fine with live food but prefer dead cause ts easier. Oh and when will he start to eat? Thank you. Any extra stuff is gladly accepted.

Males have pronounced pore on the underside of their legs.

House Geckos are way too small to eat superworms. Crickets are the best food for them. Mealworms and waxworms they may eat sometimes. The flakes inside of the container are for the worms to burrow in and eat, but they are not okay for the gecko or any lizard to eat. And yes, they will only go after live food.

House gecko can be kept in a 10 gallon with a screen lid for ventilation. They require full spectrum lighting and a basking temperature of about 80-85 with the cool side being 70-75 and dropping only slightly at night. Misting the cage twice a day will give them their needed humidity. Most geckos do not drink from bowls and will only drink the droplets of water off plant leaves. But having a water bowl in the cage is good because it raises the humidity. The bottom substrate can be natures bedding, peat moss, or as cheap as paper towels. Give them something to hide in, since they may stress having only open space.

i understand maby having a bond between u and him/her but most house geckos die from ALOT of differnt stuff. stress, parasites, small cage. if you are very carful to clean his cage and feed but not to much every day, keep him . what i would do is let him go. he more than likly wont live to long, srry

good luck,
