Confused on a rescue I am picking up to crocodile geckos and the female has supposedly been pregnant for a month. Could that be right? Never really dealt with geckos before I thought that they were like frilled dragons and lay right after mating. Let me know if I’m off track or need to get her to the vet. I haven’t seen her yet so may not be able to answer many questions. Know I’m taking two of the five don’t know defiantly pregnant but I’m assuming that with a mix of males and females theres a good chance. I think the substrate is newspaper. Any hep is great thanks!

Confused on a rescue ok dude if you dont know anything about geckos DONT RESCUE THEM. you can end up doing more harm than good if you dont know what you are doing...
as for the female geing gravid it cakes 4-6 weeks after a sucessful mating for the female to develop and lay the eggs.. then in another 4-6 weeks youll get a second clutch.. they lay 2-3 eggs at a time and have 7-8 clutches sometimes more..
and if your getting male female they cant stay together forever unless you want to shorten the life span of the female because of stress

Confused on a rescue That is why I’m asking now before I pick them up on Saturday. I’m not worried about basic care IF I need help with that my brother who has had geckos for 8 years can help me. I’ve had bearded dragons, frilled dragons, Nile monitors, Savannah monitors, anoles, Tagus, Tokay’s, and uromastyx. I think I’m well equipped for a beginner lizard. I don’t breed so I don’t know about there breeding. I assumed that if she should have laid by now she wouldn’t on the newspaper that she is being housed in now. So if that was causing her problems I wanted to be sure she got to the vet ASAP. I know very well how to properly breed animals if I don’t want to get pregnant the day I deliver a baby why should they? Any idiot should know that it is stressful. My berms are bread once every three years because I love them and don’t want to endanger them. I would apperceat not being talked to like I’m a fool. Thanks for the actual help that wasn’t laced with condescending attitude.
