You should never feed your house gecko any crickets bigger than the space between their eyes.. for adults and juvies, feed small to medium crickets... make sure the calcium dusting powder does not have D3 in it... I don’t remember why that’s bad... :P and the life span is about 5-7 years.. you may also feed them mealworms for treats... Any other Q’s?

Don’t feed them meal worms.Mealworms have hard exo skeletons that are hard for the geckos to digest.

Correction to a post up there.. You absolutely need calcium with D3 (or UVB lighting). Without d3 or UVB rays, the lizard will not have the ability to metabolize/use the calcium you give them. If you give a lizard, especially a nocturnal gecko, only calcium without d3, they can still get bone issues due to the fact that the calcium is passing straight through them and not being used.

However D3 calcium should only be used at most twice a week as the ingredient D3 is potent. Too much D3 can lead to something called D3 toxicity, which results in a sick lizard. As far as I know, UVB bulbs don’t have this problem, but you need to get a new bulb every 6 months or so due to the fact that they loose their potency after a certain period of time.
