What is the largest kind of gecko?

Well, one of my books says it is Hoplodactylus delacourti, but it says it is probably extinct. The only have one, which is one they stuffed (I think it was dead) which measured 24.5" long, from nose to tail tip. The worlds largest living Gecko is thought to be the New Caledonian Giant Gecko, measuring from nose to tail tip, it is 14.5" long. There are pictures here toward the bottom of the page. Just scroll down till you see skinks, go a little further, and you’ll see lot’s of gerckos. It has pictures, and some info.

What is the largest kind of gecko?

Male Tokays can get 14 inches long, but the New Caledonian Giant Gecko still gets 14.5 inches long, so the Tokay doesn’t loose by much...

What is the largest kind of gecko?

I know that the experts say that the largest gecko is the New Caledonian Giant reaching lengths up to 14.5 inches but my male Tokay is 15 and 1/8 inches long. As soon as I get a digital camera I will get pics of him on here so you can see just how big he is.

Yes he is awesome. He doesn’t mind being held either as long as I move slowly around him. I raised him from a baby so he is used to being handled. As for the largest gecko I have been doing some research and it seems that Hoplodactylus delacourti is the largest species and it is not extinct.

What is the largest kind of gecko?

To my knowledge the largest gecko is the New Caledonian Giant Gecko, but there is no reason that an idividual gecko af any large species could reach past that. But the world’s largest species in average length is the New Caledonian Giant Gecko.
