 Gecko housing/compatability

I have a 29 gallon high tank that i’m thinking about putting geckos into. I know I definitley want to put in at least one leopard gecko. I was wondering if there was any compatible species with the leopard gecko? I’m mainly looking at crested and african fat tailed. Any info would be great. Also do geckos eat fruit? If so what kind? If the crested of fat tailed aren’t compatible what are?

Don’t mix any species together. It won’t work. Sorry!

Kinda hypocritical here. But I’m also with the ’don’t stick more than two species in the same tank’ sorta thing. Specially concerning Leos. Now if you get two different morphs of leos, that’s not so bad.

Why is this hypocritical? I have a marble gecko and golden gecko living in the same tank. But they’re both arboreal, rainforest-type geckos that have the same basic caresheet.

Now just me saying ’no’ probably wont cut it, so I’ll explain why.

If you put a smaller gecko with a larger gecko - the larger one will probably feast on the smaller one (suck as golden geckos and anoles). Some geckos of specific species can get really territorial towards other species and end up killing them. Then the climates: while tropical lizards are nice, putting one with a leo would be bad since leos are use to rocky low-landed outcrops (they originate from afgan).

There are some rare exceptions, but I wouldn’t recommend pushing your luck. I’m pretty surprised my two geckos get along since Goldies are supposed to be extremely territorial (even the females) and if they ever start causing trouble in the future, I’m getting a second tank.

Hope this helps.
