Heating pad Help  i am getting some African fat tail geckos on Friday and i bought a heat pad and was wondering if i should putt it on the wall or on the bottom of the cage. i have a total of 9 lizards but none of them need heating pads. Tyler

Heating pad Help  you should put it on the outside bottom of the tank. And you need something so the cage doesnt rest on the cord.

Heating pad Help  If it’s the kind of heat pad that sticks to the underside of the tank’s bottom then there will need to be airflow under the tank. Placing the tank on an open top aquarium stand or on 2 2x4’s will help with that. Without airflow the glass will become too hot and crack. If the heat pad is made to go under the substrate be sure there is at least 2" of substrate on top of it.

Heating pad Help  Put the UTH under the tank glass bottom. Substrate ranges from paper towel to fibrous natural medium. I use Canadian sphagnum peat moss, bought in big bags from Home Depot
