If you’re new and don’t want a lizard accidentally escaping when you open the lid, go for Leo. They can be handtrained (ie, you can train them to walk into your hand when you put it into the tank) and they’re awesome handleble pets (long as you don’t handle them more than 2 times a day). But like most nocturnal lizards, they sleep during the day and get up when the sun goes down. Both types of lizards come in different patterns, so you win on that either way. I heard cresties are more active than leos. But since I’ve yet to own a crestie, I can’t say for sure. Though it’s probably correct information. Make sure you have your tank set up a week before getting the lizard. No calcisand, it needs a lid, it needs proper lightning, and it needs a moisthide + other hiding places. ALso Have a vet found so you can take your new reptile in to make sure it has a clean bill of health. You know, so it doesn’t have parasites or some other illness. |
