 Flat tailed gecko

Wow, when the focus on their prey they raise their tail and wave it. They can also open their mouth so wide it looks like a fliptop head. They need a very high humidity. They are the largest of the geckos.

rigin is the Madagascar jungle.

There is many species, Uroplatus fimbriatus, U. phantasticus, U. ebenaui, U. lineatus, U. sikorae, U. henkeli U. alluaudi, U. guentheri, U. malahelo.

Uroplatus phantasticus, has a morphology that so closely resembles a dead leaf, its tail even has irregular patches missing from the margin to simulate decay. Now thats cool.

77-84 degrees with 75%-100% humidity. Need tree trunks to climb on and sit on during the day. Substrate should be bark chips or peat moss or both. Insectivorous and larger species of the gecko can eat mice. Can hurt themselves if food is in a hard container. It will bruise the noses. Very aggressive when eating.

This species is declining rapidly because of deforestation. Come together and please get one. They will not be able to be sold but might be in a few years. Whan an amazing animal!!!

Wow, answered my own question!
