 Leopard geckos?

Are leopard geckos nocturnal? And are they arboreal?

Yes on the nocturnal, no on the arboreal. They come from very dry areas of the Middle East where there are hardly any trees.

Thanks again for your help! Would sand make a good substrate...i would use repti-sand so i could avoid impaction. and would a 10 gallon aquarium be ok to house a leopard gecko?

No, leos don’t do very well on sand, they live in rocky areas naturally and so don’t have a very good sand tolerance. Sand impaction risk is pretty high and repti-sand is found in their guts pretty often.

10 is okay but 20 gallons is ideal. Safe substrates include ceramic tiles, linoleum, slate or sandstone, newspaper, or ground coconut husk.

I prefer to use papertowel or newspaper for substrate with my Leopard Geckos.Any substrate that is smaller than their head is bad news.Leopard geckos can be curious ,and will eat anything that will fit in their mouth just for fun (I think),and they have a prety big mouth.

 Leopard geckos?

if yer gecko is losing its stripes and getting spots you need to get it a 20 gallon aquarium. if u use sand made 4 reptiles it wont get impacted. u may wanna put some shale under the sand to make it more "Rocky" for the gecko.
