chubbs is on a hunger strike.. i think its due to the weather. its been getting cooler and shes near a window, so im wondering if that helping to affect her. shes alert and herself, but no real food interest.

Ditto. I put 6 in night before last and all 6 were still walking around when I got home from work. She was near a window until last week, but I relocated her to a more stable climate when it started getting chilly round here. She’s actually getting a couple upgrades. I finally got a digital therm. last week as well as a rheostat. I ordered a heat cable from my local petshop and will be in on Oct. 3rd, so I will replace her existing UTHs (she has 2 because when I upgraded her from a 10 to a 15 I was able to successfully peel/reuse the one she was using and bought a second to make an adequate sized warm zone) with that for better/more even heat.
Anyway, like Chubbs, she looks and acts fine. I stopped worrying so much when she slowed down a few weeks ago. I was stressing for a while, but came to the conclusion that she will eat when she wants to. I’ll just keep trying every other night...

Funny as hell Smurf! Cuweena ate 11 crickets this morning! She’s a total freak. I dropped them one at a time in the hole in the top of the shelter she was in every 30 seconds or so and she instantly chowed down, no hesitation at all. I just gave her some time in between crickets to chew and swallow properly.
Although they weren’t the normal med/lg crickets I usually get her from Petco she enjoyed them very much. It turns out that a local shop near my house gets THE PERFECT SIZE crickets every shipment! I went there to get the digi thermometer, rheostat and heat cable and as I was walking out the door I looked to my right and spotted a fresh shipment that had just come in. I was like those are the perfect size for Cuwena and he said that’s the size he gets all the time. I feel good knowing there is nothing I need to go to Petco or any other large chain store for. Support your local mom & pop shops if you can... This guy will order me anything he doesn’t stock at no charge and everything is way cheaper than any chain stores.
The crickets are all between 1/2" and 3/4". Perfect! The best thing about that size is the damned things can’t lay eggs yet! Hahahaha
5 bucks says she won’t eat for like 2 weeks. LoL

shes halarious.. i have to pace her when she does decide to eat or else shell try to fit as many as she can into her mouth in one go.. about three fell in front of her while she was being fed.. and in less than 5 seconds she was trying to fit them all in her mouth.. legs and antennae were sticking out both sides of her mouth. shes a pig when she wants to be, a prim prissy little girl all the other times.
