im thinking about adding chubbs in with rattie and mattie.. those two are doing very well together.. they seem to be pretty social.. and ive never seen any signs of aggression between the two.. so i may try it later on.. well see. |

and are they all girls? I think it would probably work. You could try it for a day when you’re home just to see how they are together and then decide though. :] How are they social? Do they cuddle and do cute lizard-like things? I almost got a girl a while back, sorta wish I had..I can’t afford another tank right now because I’m setting up a saltwater aquarium but I’d love to have more afts. |

my tanks are both 20 longs. but i go all out with stuff.. im going to put some textured wall stuff in them.. and make them have multiple levels.. they roam around a lot and i find them everywhere so i think theyd get some use out of it. ive had chubbs in with them before with no issues.. but i want to wait until i have more time to check on them constantly to be sure of nothing bad happening. for those that dont know.. i rattie and mattie came together from a member on this forum.. i almost got the male as well.. but ive already got boomer.. so i dont really need another little boy.. plus im running low on space.. lol. |

i wanted to make a tall lego pyramid with a high basking spot and hide in one but i made a little, short hide that he didn’t learn to climb on top of for months...so i’m not sure if he’d figure it out. when I got ember, i had great intentions of making a really awesome tank. but a year later, i’ve still never gotten around to it. he only hides in one hide, i’m not sure if he’d really appreciate the effort or not. i do have a little extra christmas cash and a new job i start soon so i guess i don’t need to stash everything for my 18th birthday piercing-tattoo extravaganza, so if i think of any cool ideas, i just might go for it. textured wall stuff? I haven’t heard of that. i am gonna get one of those little stick on corner mesh things though, because those might be relatively fun for a gecko. i’ve seen them in a lot of leo tanks. yeah, i would love to have a bunch live together, but i don’t want to breed and i couldn’t possibly throw eggs away if they did mate. i could make a female group when i have money though. it’d be really cute if they all got along and ate well. =) i have 4 tanks, 2 in my room, 1 in my boyfriend’s (he bought me a salamander that i really wanted only to find out my mom wouldn’t let me keep it so..i mostly take care of it but i guess we share that one) and a 55 in the living room. but since my stepdad moved out i’ve been trying to convince my mom to use his room as extra tank space for more critters. we’ll see how that goes..so far, she’s not convinced XD I’ll have a lot more someday, but only as much as i have the resources to make happy. I love geckos <3 |

ill have to dig it up on the leo forum.. people make some nifty 3d textured backgrounds for tanks.. id only do it for the side pieces though.. my tanks arent against walls so my hides face all different ways. my afts must be the nutty ones.. mattie and boomer have both climbed out of their tanks.. im still trying to figure out how mattie got out.. nothing was really high enough for her to climb.. then she just sat against the tank and stared at rattie.. i came home and they were both staring at each other. |

I would love to have cresties, an argentine tegu, satanic leaf tails, and i think i’d like to try a ball python or brazilian rainbow boa at some point. and I have an idea for a huge, like half of a room, set up for amphibians. That plan hasn’t formulated really either, I’ll do it when i move out and have my own house to destroy. there’s always, of course, my love for my first gecko and i’ll always have afts. my boyfriend wants blizzard leos. they’re expensive from what i’ve heard though, except i saw a juvenile in a petsmart once for 45 dollars. i’m not sure if i was misinformed or if they ripped off their own store.. My cat climbs on ember’s tank -.- I catch her there every now and then..it’s not to watch ember though, she likes to bat and pounce for the crickets that are inside at night. and i think she likes the heat on the screen top. she can’t actually get inside, she hasn’t learned yet that hitting glass doesn’t accomplish anything..but maybe she thinks it does because they run away. i don’t know. ember hides when she comes near the tank though.. hm..i have suction cup plants on the sides to make it a little less boring, and i’ve caught mine climbing them a couple of times. once, his head and torso was pressed all the way against the screen top because he climbed to the very tip top.. I pulled him down and moved the plant down..i have 3 dogs and a cat, i’m not taking any chances. that would be a cute picture, the two geckos staring through the glass. but that probably wouldn’t be your first thought after discovering a houdini gecko. :] Ember was a little more weird when i got him, but i think it’s because he was sick. He’s pretty chilled out and lazy now..he doesn’t react to anything except for the terrifying water-squirt bottle. He’s not exactly a fast mover, but he runs his tail into a hide if there’s water being sprayed. and i make sure not to ever get water on him, so i don’t know what he’s afraid of. i noticed a pavlov effect today though..i have to pump the spray bottle a couple of times before the water comes out, and he ran in the hide at the pumping sound. i think it’s the first time he’s done that. other than that and digging holes in the coco fiber, mine isn’t too nutty. it’s probably more fun to have weird ones, but i love him just the same. :] |

btw- the easiest way to get awesome fake tank plants is really easy.. go to a craft store.. or walmart work too. lol.. buy some small bits of decorative fake plant vines.. soak in hot water to make sure the color wont bleed out.. then buy little suction cups (also found in craft stores and walmart craft sections).. attach to the plant vines and viola... beautiful, custom color, custom sized, and cheap plants.. a lot of them are also softer than the plastic petstore ones.. meaning geckos seem to like them more since they act more like leaves. |
