i can halfway answer this question.it needs d3 1-3 times a week to absorb the calcium that you give it everyday.
it will not kill your gecko but too much can be toxic.i dont really think you need a dish in his cage, just dust with calcuim 5 times a week and d3 twice a week.

if im wrong then correct me.

but no it wont kill your gecko.

lol.. i just use the same dust as i use for my leos.. been doing it for several years and theyre fine. you really dont need the dish in there.. just dust their food with it ever 2-3 feedings and you should be good.. i usually dust every other feeding.. their a nocturnal gecko so they dont need a lot of d3.. just stick to dusting and youll be fine.

not to hijack, but it’s the same topic. what if.. for the past year i’ve had mine i’ve dusted every one of his feedings?
would that be an overdose of some kind..because i think somewhere along the way i thought i was supposed to do that.
i’ve only used fluker’s calcium dust and t-rex leo dust.
>< i’m going to feel dumb if i’ve been doing something wrong for a long time.

I’ve read that AFT’s REQUIRE the calcium dust with D3 every feeding, because it is the vitamin that the sun naturally produces. Seeing they’re nocturnal, they NEED the D3 because they never really see true sunlight. Even if you have any type of UV bulb, they rarely come out to bask in it...

Does anyone here live in Massachusetts? I love Cuweena and all, but I’d be willing to sell her and all supplies for a mere $100. Pretty good deal seeing a normal AFT is between $50-75 average plus a 20 gal. tank, heat lamp, heating pad, rheostat, digital thermometer, plants, rocks, substrate, dust, cricket food...
There’s really not much care for the little critter, but I’ve got a lot of other things going on and can’t give her the attention she deserves (not that she really seems to care).

Here’s my photobucket album address - http://s113.photobucket.com/albums/n212/abjones413/Cuweena/

and some pix...

AFT~413: Why don’t you post on your local classified ads. Since your selling the gecko, tank and all of her supplies you won’t be able to ship and you’ll get more local responses that way. Also, some pet stores have boards where you can put up a flier. I’m just giving you some tips because you’re not supposed to sell on this forum. You can post on the adoptions/rescues forum though.

As far as D3 goes I’m taking care of my girls the same way I take care of my leos as far as supplements go. They get their worms dusted with calcium with D3 once a week. It’s hard to find a good supplement guide on the internet, so I just go with what works for the more experienced people out here.

Thanks for the heads-up Repfanatic. I do have her posted on Crai****** for my local area, it’s just that I would feel more comfortable if she went to a current reptile owner with some experience and I know everyone here loves their little ones.
I never thought of posting at a pet store though. That’s a great idea. Thanks again...
