I just got my first 2 fat tails. Well, I’ve been looking into fat tail geckos for a while now, but just didn’t have the time for more pets with my leopard gecko breeding projects. I have decided to stop breeding for a while and I’ve been looking at these 2 girls for about 4 months now. They have been sitting at our local reptile shop, so I decided to get them today. Here they are.

Right now they’re in a 10 gallon tank, but will be moving to a 29 gallon long on Friday. Right now they’re kind of skinny, but I’ll get them fattened up in no time. I’ll keep you updated. Thanks for looking.

I just got my first 2 fat tails. Also, I’ve seen other fat tails, but never striped liked these girls. Is this a morph?

I just got my first 2 fat tails. Well....mine is striped...as well as a good deal of other pictures I’ve seen of other’s AFTs...pretty sure it’s normal, but I’m new to this whole reptile owning business and I’m still learning (a lot, this site is so helpful!) so don’t quote me on it.

I just got my first 2 fat tails. Well, I looked and the internet didn’t have too much on AFTs, but I did find a few. They say the striped AFTs show up quite a bit in the wild, but are hard to produce in captivity. I’m new with AFTs, but not with snakes and other lizards. I think geckos are my favorite lizards. I have 6 leos, 1 Tokay and now my 2 AFTs. I think it’s the eyes.

I just got my first 2 fat tails. The white stripe is normal.
Some have them, some don’t. Neither are morphs though.
Geckos are my favourite too :]

That’s what I figured out. It looks like the only morphs they have are albino and white sox. I’m not really into morphs, so it’s nice not having to see people come on here and ask what morph their AFT is. I do have morph leopard geckos, but they were all rescues from pet stores or owners that didn’t want them anymore.

I just got my first 2 fat tails. I just went and looked up a white socks AFT..I never heard of one until now. Those are cute though, I like the white feet. They apparently have jungle too.
Well, there are many more morphs of leopard geckos, and they are much more common. They are more easily accessed and less expensive, so much more people would have them.
I don’t think I’ve seen anyone on this forum with morph afts, except for maybe an albino. Not sure though. I’ve been on here for a year though.
A rescue is always a good thing. :]

I just got my first 2 fat tails. Yeah. It’s funny. I usually don’t like albino in any animal, but the AFTs and leos are cute as albinos. I bred leos for a few years and am thinking about breeding AFTs, but that won’t be for a while. First off, I’m taking a break from breeding for a while and am just letting my lizards be pets. Second, my AFT girls need a lot of TLC before they’d be able to breed. I can already see their tails fattening up. They love their crix. I’m going to switch to roach breeding rather than crickets since they live longer, are less noisy and don’t smell as bad. Has anybody ever fed their AFT roaches?

I just got my first 2 fat tails. I actually don’t have local access to them, but It’s close. Here’s the link to the site I will be getting them from when it gets warmer outside Link. I breed crickets now, but they’re so annoying. Their loud, they smell bad and a large percentage are dying rather than serving their purpose as food for my lizards. I breed feeders because I have 11 lizards to feed and one is a bearded dragon which means I go through 100 or more crix a week just to feed him. Even though roaches are more expensive in the beginning they will be so much better in the long run since they can live almost a year which means`there are WAY less dead carcasses to clean up. I’ll still be with my crix for quite a while longer though because I’m going to have to wait 6 months to get a good supply of roaches up before I start feeding. Sorry to ramble, but I’m so excited about it! Oh, another question also. Has anybody ever figured out how to raise silk worms? I tried it a couple times and had VERY little success. I really like them as a staple worm diet for my geckos.
